You left me

You left me,

And an unawareness of You

Lingered, filling my senses

With a long unremembered

Inexperience of You.

Looking with querying eyes

Only brought home to me

The shortsightedness of

The cloudiness of

Believing which comes

Without seeing.

Servant or slave,

Who dares demand attention?

Only waiting becomes either,

Only the proper knowledge

Of whose place it properly is,

Whose command would demand

Attendance at whatever leisure.

And so am I here

Knowing my place,

Waiting for whenever

You may wish

To call.
